Test Dust
Many companies use a range of Test Dusts to check a products performance and reliability, these tests could be to ensure that vacuum cleaners are effective and efficient, to making sure aircraft engines operate reliably in a sand storm. Particle Technology has many years experience in supplying test dusts manufactured to International Standards along with test dusts manufactured to customer specific standards.
Environmental Dust Testing
All types of products are exposed to hostile conditions that can include sand storms and rain, to help our customers test products in these conditions Particle Technology houses the largest dust testing facilities in the UK for Ingress Protection(IP) and Sand Erosion; with the humidity controlled at a guaranteed <30% the 40m3 chamber is capable of air velocities up to 30m/s and temperatures up to a maximum of 900C. This large Test Chamber eliminates the need for UK based customers to ship products overseas, thereby reducing cost and turnaround time.
Accredited test standards carried out include; MIL STD 810 B - F 510.4 Proc 1 & II, DEF STD 07 - 55 (Part 2) Section 4/1, DEF STD 00 - 35 (Part 3) CL25, BS EN 60529:1992, ISO 20653:2006, RTCA DO - 160B, C, D, E, Section 12
All of the listed specifications are tested to ISO STD 17025 and are accredited by UKAS.
Particle Size Standards
Particle Technology supplies a wide range of certified particle size standards(including Dukes) traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Component Cleanliness Analyser
Product performance and effective long life guarantees depend on many things, component materials, effective design, high quality assembly and ongoing maintenance. One area of increasing importance is component cleanliness. Particles left on a component during assembly can have catastrophic effects over time. To help our customers reduce or eliminate this risk and associated costs Particle Technology offer the Component Cleanliness Analyser. A particle counting and sizing system used in various industrial applications to test the efficiency of aqueous and solvent cleaning equipment. Component cleanliness is tested in accordance with ISO STD 16232 and ISO STD 18413:2002. We also offer the service of testing manufactured components at our dedicated laboratory at Hatton.
