Test Dust

Environmental Dust Testing
Particles in the atmosphere have as stated earlier a huge impact on our lives, and as human beings the affect can be good or bad, I guess mostly bad. Where the impact is almost without doubt bad is the damage particles will have on the equipment we use. Quite simply too many particles in the wrong place will stop the equipment from working, the implications of this happening could be catastrophic in terms of safety and cost. The logical approach to this problem is to carry out Environmental Dust Tests under controlled conditions, Particle Technology can help, we house the largest dust testing facilities for Ingress Protection and Sand Erosion in the UK; the humidity controlled 40m3 chamber is capable of air velocities up to 30m/s and temperatures up to a maximum of 900C. Accredited test standards carried out include;

Particle Size Standards
Particle Technology supplies a wide range of certified particle size standards traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology including standards from Duke Scientific.
Component Cleanliness Analyser
Product performance and effective long life guarantees depend on many things, component materials, effective design, high quality assembly and ongoing maintenance. One area of increasing importance is component cleanliness. Particles left on a component during final assembly can have catastrophic effects over time. To help our customers reduce or eliminate this risk and associated costs Particle Technology offer the Component Cleanliness Analyser. A particle counting and sizing system used in various industrial applications to test the efficiency of aqueous and solvent cleaning equipment. Component cleanliness is tested in accordance with ISO STD 16232 and ISO STD 18413:2002. We also offer the service of testing manufactured components at our dedicated laboratory at Hatton.
