Optical Microscopy & Particle ID

Each member of staff at Particle Technology is trained to know that every particle size measurement begins with a look under the microscope.  Viewing images of the powders or dispersions you are studying can reveal a wealth of information that is very difficult to discover with any other method.

By employing years of experience and optical tools such as polarising filters and varying light intensities the composition of particles can be accurately identified.  This is an excellent tool to determine the source of contaminants or the composition of slurries.

Particle Technology have a video microscope which is calibrated using a traceable graticule, this allows micrographs to be taken or short clips to be produced that can be used to create or form part of a report on the particular powder or slurry you are interested in.
