Process, Analysis & Standards

Flushing liquid (water– or solvent–based, depending on your requirements) is drawn through a membrane filter where the contamination is captured. The filter is weighed and then analysed with a Leica microscope using unique software to identify particles in different size classes, including the longest particles and fibres according to the applicable test standards applied. The microscope system can also categorise particles into reflective and non-reflective to give an indication of the ratio of metallic to non-metallic particles.
