AFS 150 Test System

AFS 150 Test System for automated scan testing of HEPA and ULPA filters according to ISO 29463-4 (EN 1822-4) and ISO 29463-5 (EN 1822-5)

The AFS 150 Automated Filter Scanner is designed to meet the requirements of testing air filters according to EN1822-4 = leakage test/filterscan and EN 1822-5 = integral separation efficiency test (analogous ISO 29463-4 and ISO 29463-5) with a high grade of automatisation.

Main components of the test rig for testing high efficiency particulate air filters (HEPA, ULPA) are:

Depending on dimensions of filters under control, lot size, personell resources, and further conditions at the customer side the appropriate version of filter testing system can be chosen.

AFC 136 Test System

AFC 136 Test System for production control of filter elements (e.g. exhaust filter, HEPA filter)

For the purpose of 100% inspection of the integral filter separation efficiency during production, especially for exhaust filters and HEPA filters used in vacuum cleaners and mobile air cleaners.

Production control demands for short test cycles while using robust, compact, service-reduced and safe technologies. A test cycle includes therefore the supply, the analytical characterisation and the re-moval of the test specimen. Due to its measurement concept and high degree of automatisation, the AFC 136 enables reliable testing with measurement times of 30 s.

To ensure a full traceability, determined test data can be integrated directly into in-house databases by combining the filter test system with techniques for test specimen identification (e.g., bar code or QR code scanner).

AFC 135 Test System

Test System AFC 135 for development, testing and calibration of active or passive aerosol sensors (PM sensors, PN sensors)

The Aerosol Sensor Test System AFC 135 combines the features of the successfully established test systems for filter media and elements (AFC 131/AFC 132).

Additionally the range of application ius extended to the development, testing and calibration of sensors for number or mass-related determination of the particle loading of aerosols (PMx-and PNx- sensors). The wide field of application is made possible on the one hand by the flexible sensor integration (active and passive sensors) and on the other hand by the realisation of a wide volume flow range. On customer request, the test system can be equipped with 2 measuring sections to cover volume flow rates between 0,8 … 40 m³/h and 40 … 450 m³/h.

AFC 133 Test System

AFC 133 Test System for characterisation of cleanable filter media according to ISO 11057

For characterisation of cleanable filter media Topas developed the AFC 133 Filter Media Test Rig, which is designed for measurements according to ISO 11057.

Reliable, reproducible testing of filter media is important for the development and optimisation of filter media, as well as for quality assurance during the production process. Filter materials for dust filters for gases are characterised by a reference test method according to the ISO 11057. Under standardised test conditions and test procedures both the performance during operation and the particulate emissions of the filter media are determined in order to obtain information about the operation and separation behavior during practical use.

The most relevant parameters for the characterisation of filter media are:

With the AFC 133 Filter Media Test Stand customised test procedures can be done as well.

AFC 132 QC HEPA Test System

AFC 132 QC HEPA Test System for quality control during production of small HEPA filter elements

This air filter test system is designed to meet requirements of EN1822-4 and ISO 29463-4, Appendix E “efficiency leakage test for particle sizes from 0.3 µm to 0.5 µm”.

This part of the standard is related to filter elements which cannot be scanned due to their geometrical design. In this case determination of integral filtration efficiency is sufficient for quality control.

AFC 132 Test System

AFC132 Test System for characterisation of filter media and small filter elements

For the characterisation of filter media, Topas developed the AFC 132 filter media test system. This test system allows to test filter media and small filter elements according to various standards on differential pressure drop, gravimetric efficiency, fractional efficiency and dust holding capacity.

The reliable, reproducible test of filter media is important for development and optimisation, as well as quality assurance during production.

Important features for characterising filter media are:

The AFC 132 can also be used to realise a customised filter media test with individual test conditions and freely configurable sequences.
