Ultrasonic Desintegrator UDS 751 for dispersing solutions, emulsions and suspensions by focused ultrasonic
With the ultrasonic disintegrator UDS 751/UP 200S, ultrasound with very high power densities – up to 600 W/cm² – can be introduced into liquid media.
The UDS 751, developed in cooperation with Hielscher GmbH, was replaced in mid-2006 by the UP 200S, which is identical in construction. With it, an extraordinarily wide range of laboratory and small-scale production tasks can be solved.
Thermodenuder TDD 590 for removal of volatile organic components (VOC) from aerosols
The Model TDD 590 thermodenuder is designed to remove moisture and volatile particles from an aerosol sample for the subsequent measurement of dry particle size. There are a lot of industrial applications the particle size distribution of hot gases is interesting for.
The specification of many particle size measuring instruments does not allow analysing gas with high temperatures which required a cooling of the sample. When cooling takes place condensation processes will occur and volatile particles can be formed by nucleation. Both processes produce particles or change particle size of solid compounds in the gas by heterogeneous condensation on particle surfaces. So results of particle measurements include a systematic error.
For avoiding such measuring errors thermodenuders are used. By regulating the sample temperature such devices enable reducing moisture as well as volatile particles in the sample aerosol flow. Thus condensation processes during cooling down are widely prevented.
Conditioning chamber TDC 585 to discharge air filter media by isopropanol vapor according to ISO 16890-4
The harmonised testing standard ISO 16890-4 requires the conditioning of the test filter with vaporised isopropyl alcohol (IPA). To ensure high quality of these filter elements and for further development such conditioning may also be necessary for the filter media which are the basis for this products. For this purpose the conditioning chamber TDC 585 was developed. It is especially suitable for the conditioning of small filter elements and filter media.
The product development results from the preceding Topas innovation TDC 584, the conditioning cabinet for complete filter elements. As filter media are significantly smaller, for the conditioning of these filter media a smaller conditioning volume is necessary. This also lowers the safety hazard. The safe operation of the conditioning chamber TDC 585 is also confirmed by an external safety report. However to fulfil this, it must be placed under an ATEX compliant fume hood.
Conditioning cabinet TDC 584 to discharge air filter and air filter media by isopropanol vapour according to ISO 16890-4
The harmonisation of international testing standard ISO 16890-4 requires neutralisation of tested filter element by Isopropyl-alcohol (IPA) treatment. Therefore a suitable test cabinet for filter discharging is needed.
The solution proposed in ISO 16890-4, chapter 7 requires a large amount of hazardous substance with approximately 1 l of liquid IPA, whereas particularly the handling of the trays filled with liquid IPA is risky. Furthermore large quantities of IPA saturated air enter the laboratory after opening the cabinet, which is a sanitary as well as a safety-related problem. It also requires an air extraction of the complete laboratory area.
Due to these problems, Topas decided a new cabinet for the filter conditioning according to ISO 16890-4.
Rectangular Sampling Probe SYS 529 for leakage and integrity testing according ISO 14644-3 for a sample flow rate of 28,3 l/min
Isokinetic sampling probes are required, for example, for leakage testing of built-in filter systems in cleanrooms and cleanroom facilities. In the existing standards and guidelines, probes with rectangular cross-sections are recommended.
The Topas probes have a rectangular cross-section at the suction point, which merges steadily into a round cross-section for the hose connection. The manufacturing process guarantees a high-quality, smooth surface inside the probe, including all transitions. The constructive design of the probe is based on the international standard ISO 14644-3 as well as the VDI guideline 2083-3. The probe geometry depends on the volume flow of the particle counter used and the required probe inlet velocity.
