SYS 525 Sampling System

Sampling System SYS 525 for sampling aerosols from compressed gas lines

Topas developed the Sampling System for Pressure Lines SYS 525 for a representative sampling and pressure uncoupling from pressure vessels at medium pressures up to 8 bar.

The isokinetic taken sample is modified only marginal. The design and configuration of of the sample extraction system complies with requirements of guideline VDI 2083/7.

In some applications it is necessary to analyse gas in pressure lines or pressure-vessels. Part of it are analyses of chemical and physical composition and of content of particles in gases. Because of the specifications of common measuring devices that are often not made for sampling from pressure vessels, the use of a suitable sample extraction system is required, like the SYS 525.

SYS 520 Switching Unit

Sample Switching Unit SYS 520 for sampling aerosol samples from to two sample location

The Sample Switching Unit SYS 520 has been developed for the determination of fractional separation efficiencies of filters or filter media at two different sampling points, that is before and after the filter.

This task can be realised with the sample switching unit SYS 520 with only one particle size analyser economically and reproducible. With the switching unit an automated and safe exchange between the measurement of sampling lines I, II and a sampling line of a purge routine is possible (using the integrated HEPA filter).

RFU 564 Regulated Flow Unit

Regulated Flow Unit RFU 564 for providing variable adjustable and controlled air flow rates up to 100 L/min for underpressure and overpressure operation mode

The Regulated Flow Unit RFU 564 was developed to provide variable adjustable and time-stable air flow rates for both under pressure (intake mode) and over pressure operation (supply mode).

Most aerosol analytical tasks for characterisation and testing require the supply or removal of defined air flow rates. Especially for frequently varying needs, users of aerosol technologies are confronted by the challenge to modify or design new test setups. For that matter, the process air flow respectively the main air flow is of fundamental importance to adjust required analytical parameters. Furthermore, the use of the Regulated Flow Unit RFU 564 reduces the need for numerous test stand components (blowers, pipes, valves, flow meters, filters). Accordingly, the installation of aerosol analytical test setups becomes easier and faster.

GMS 141 Sampling System

GMS 141 gravimetric sampling system of oil concentrations at Blow-By oil mist separators

The GMS 141 gravimetric sampling system allows the comfortable detection of oil content in blow-by after oil mist separators with a flat sheet filter at engine test stands.

Oil mist separators must be improved to reach new engine exhaust reglementations. It is also designed to capture oil wall films for engine protection.

Oil mist separators are basic components of a crankcase ventilation system. They will be benchmarked after differential pressure and oil flow. For chosing a most suitable type of oil mist separator for a new type of engine these measurements are essential.

EMS 755 Sieve Vibrator

Electromagnetic Sieve Vibrator EMS 755 for finest grain sieving of dry powders (dry sieving) or suspensions (wet sieving)

The Electromagnetic Sieve Vibrator EMS 755 has been developed for microsieving process optimisation.

Studies of microsieving have shown that in addition to the ultrasonic energy used for the process also the mechanical energy contributes to the microsieving process optimisation in the form of horizontal vibrations. One important feature of this development is the simplicity of changing the sieves. At the stand the device can easily be positioned at any distance to the ground.

It is possible to use additional energy e.g. ultrasonic energy with the Ultrasonic Disintegrator UDS 751/UP 200S which can be mounted onto the stand too. Furthermore the EMS 755 can easily be used together with a standard wire cloth sieve to disperse dry powder systems (bulk analysis).

EAN 581 Aerosol Neutralizer

Electrostatic Aerosol Neutraliser EAN 581 for generation of positive and/or negative ions for neutralisation or unipolar charging of aerosols

The Electrostatic Aerosol Neutraliser EAN 581 from Topas conditions the charge distribution of test dusts and other aerosols, like required in ISO 11155-1 and DIN 71460-1. Charge equilibrium can be controlled by mixing positive and negative ions in a precise manner.

The mechanical interaction of particles, especially solid ones, may cause undesirable levels of electrostatic charge. Test dusts must be generated with a high degree of reproducibility for instance when evaluating aerosol separation techniques such as cyclones, filters or impactors. Comparable results can only be obtained at controlled and similar charge levels.
